Of course the weather would be beautiful for my shortest trip ever to Boston. The leaves were in color, the skies clear of rain and the sun warm. Of course I was here attending a conference so spent the vast majority of the beautiful 3 days that I was here, inside a large convention center. The conference was educational and worthwhile for me. But getting to see 7 of my favorite genetic counselors every day (along with various SOs and a new baby) made up for the lack of outdoor activity.
Even though most of us hadn't seen each other in a year or two it was as though little time had passed and we were still in grad school. Granted there were more conversations involving updates, but there was still the same amount of laughter and genuine caring. These ladies (plus 2 more) were a major driving force behind making it through grad school and continue to still be a source of support even though hundreds to thousands of miles separate us. They are my GC sisters.
