Wedding Costa Rica style

The main reason for coming to Costa Rica was to help celebrate the nuptials of our friends, Keenan and Ana Maria. The wedding, held on the beach at Playa Hermosa, was truly a melding of two cultures and two families.

The ceremony was filled with parental blessings in both Spanish and English, serenading of Ana, glass breaking and beautiful vows. The reception, lasting until 4 am included beach games, dinner, merengue and salsa dancing, entertainment provided by guests, fireworks, carnival, Chinese lanterns after midnight and a sing along by bonfire. Ben lasted through all of it while I passed out before the sing along. These unique Central America weddings are raising the bar for travel back here and for future weddings. I might be disappointed if all future weddings don't include large trays filled with tequila shots and midnight snacks of fried yucca and ceviche.
Sunday was filled with brunch and lounging pool and beach side and was topped off with a beautiful sunset over the Pacific.
To continue the tradition...
Things I've learned in Costa Rica:
1. Maps are really more of a rough estimate.
2. Monkeys are really hard to photograph.
3. Kilometers to the next town can change rapidly within a few meters.
4. Bugs and spiders are really cool, in a container or from a distance.
5. One can never have enough pineapple, whether fresh, con leche, in a colada, in a smoothie, dipped in chocolate or in jam.

I am a sexy iguana. This is my good side, no?
