Ben had already been on the East Coast for the previous week and a half. I managed to convince him to pick me up at Logan late at night, which worked out well as my cousin and boyfriend were also able to rendevous with us in Boston. It made for a fun late night drive to Ben's family's Cape house!
We managed to convince a few more friends to join us during the first weekend and enjoyed sailing, kayaking, the beach and feasted on lobster and fish. The week continued with a few less people, though friends from California made the trip out for their first Cape experience. Unfortunately their son got sick while they were there and had to make an emergency trip to Children's Boston mid-week (all is okay now!).

In the past our visits to the Cape have always been full of friends and family, while this trip ended up being a much slower pace than usual. We spent one day just sitting on the dock, reading, waving at the tourist boat that occasionally cruised by and watching the sailing school kids learn how to capsize and then right their boats, over and over and over again.
The week wrapped up with an overnight stay with family in Boston, which included a torrential downpour (I can only assume that Boston was reminding me why we left).
