Henry VIII's armour
From the Tower, we walked across Tower Bridge, along Jubilee Walk and back across the river on the Milennium (or "Whobbly") Bridge towards St. Paul's just in time to hear some of the Evensong hymns. We didn't get to walk around the cathedral but it was nice to sit for a minute or two and get a little rest in such a wonderful place. We eventually found a guidebook recommended pub called Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese. It's located half way down a tiny little alley and is one of the oldest pubs in London, if I remember correctly. First fish and chips of the trip! The pub was great and really made us wish that we had tons of mates we could ring up and invite down to the pub for a pint or two.
Sunday we lounged in Hyde Park for a bit, took the required photo in front of Buckingham, wove through the masses at Trafalgar Square, popped into the National Gallery for some culture of a different kind and then secluded ourselves away from the wind and the pollen while watching Sex and the City (The Movie). Oh, and of course there was a pint tucked in there somewhere.

Right around sunset we made our way down to the London Eye. With hardly any line we didn't have to wait long to enter our 360 degree viewing orb and start our "flight" up over London. For those that don't know the Eye is a huge ferris wheel that takes about 40 minutes to circle and the orbs are large enough for about 14 people and you're allowed to stand up and walk around. It's currently one of the tallest, if not the tallest, structure in London and it has amazing views.
Parliment from the Eye
Unfortunately, with all of our sightseeing we didn't have any chance to spend time with my hosts and had to resort to setting a dinner date for the four of us on the last night before we leave to start our Ireland trip 5 weeks from now!
I'm hoping that I will get to start counseling tomorrow, but if the patient is a no show I'll have at least 4 opportunities on Thurs!! Looking forward to it!
In case you forgot what we looked like...
Hope everything is well with everyone!!

WHAT A FANTASTIC TIME YOU ARE HAVING -- AND WHAT A GREAT JOB OF SHARING IT WITH ALL OF US. I CAN TELL FROM THE PHOTO THAT TRAVEL HAS REALLY CHANGED YOU BOTH IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS. HAHA. GREAT PICTURES.
GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU ARE EXCITED ABOUT THE COUNSELING SINCE THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT.
SURE WISH YOUR MOM AND I WERE THERE TOO!! (BUT WE PROBABLY COULDN'T KEEP UP.)
SENDING LOVE,
AUNT LINDA
That is such an adorable picture of the two of you! Ben filled us in a little on the all the exciting places you have been working with...it sounds great to see all the different styles, whether or not you agree with them. It will be especially interesting to hear more on the differences between genetic testing in UK vs. here. I hope we can all meet up sometime in near future, especially over some Cattan.
Cheers,
-Erin
